Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information study4cert.com (“Study4Cert”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run your account, deliver your study material and support you. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form).
- Order details: billing name, email address, billing address and country, the exams you buy, and the order total.
- Messages: the name, email address, topic and message you send through our contact form or by email. Contact form messages are delivered to our support inbox by email and are not stored in the website’s database.
Information collected automatically
- Access records: when your access to an exam starts and ends, and when material is opened or downloaded from your account, so we can provide access and help if something goes wrong.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device and pages requested, recorded in standard server logs and used to keep the site secure and working.
- Security checks: to stop automated sign-ups and spam, our forms apply short-term limits per connection. These limits use a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address, not the address itself, and expire automatically after a short time.
Payment information
Card and other payment details are entered with, and processed by, our payment providers. We receive confirmation that payment was made, but never your full card number.
How we use your information
- to create and manage your account;
- to process your orders and give you access to the material you bought;
- to send service emails, such as order confirmations, account and password emails, and replies to your questions;
- to keep the site secure and prevent fraud and misuse of accounts or material;
- to improve our material, for example when you report an error in a question;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We send marketing emails only if you have agreed to receive them, and every such email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performing our contract with you (account, orders, access); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the service); legal obligations (tax and accounting records); and your consent where we ask for it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Study4Cert, and only as much as they need:
- Payment providers, to take payments and prevent fraud;
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its data;
- Our exam delivery platform (examsgrade.com), which serves the web-based practice tests and PDF downloads you open from your account through secure, time-limited links;
- Email delivery services, to send account and order emails.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public. If Study4Cert is ever sold or merged, personal information may be transferred to the new owner under this policy.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work:
- Sign-in cookies keep you logged in to your account;
- Cart and session cookies (set by WooCommerce, our store platform) remember what is in your cart and keep checkout working;
- Preference and security cookies support features such as remembering a private preview link.
These cookies are essential and are not used for advertising. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but signing in and checkout will not work without them.
How long we keep it
- Account details: for as long as your account is open. You can ask us to close it at any time.
- Orders: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is typically several years.
- Support emails: for as long as needed to help you, and then for a reasonable period in case you contact us again.
- Server logs and security records: for a short period, usually a few weeks or less.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, except where we must keep it by law;
- object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you have given;
- receive your information in a portable format.
To make a request, email support@study4cert.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity and will reply within the time the law allows. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
You can review and update your account details and see your orders at any time under My account.
Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored hashed, and access to personal information is limited to people who need it to support you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we rely on safeguards required by applicable law.
Children
Study4Cert is intended for adults and professionals preparing for certification exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
